Mahahual sits on the southern coast of Quintana Roo, away from the large tourism centers of Cancún and Playa del Carmen, but there are now several practical ways to reach this part of the Mexican Caribbean.

You can fly into Chetumal, Tulum or Cancún, use the Maya Train, continue by bus, arrange a private transfer or drive.

The best combination depends on where you start, your flight times, how many people are traveling with you and whether you want to explore other destinations in southern Quintana Roo.

Important: Mahahual does not have a commercial airport or a Maya Train station in town. The final portion of every route is by road.
